Katie Rudolph
DIRECTOR OF GOLF, ALL LOCATIONS - krudolph@golfv2.com
Katie Brenny Rudolph has been active in the golf industry for twenty years. Rudolph, a Minnesotan native, was a collegiate golfer at Wake Forest University, one of the most prestigious Division 1 golf schools in the country. After graduation, Rudolph set out on a path that ultimately gave her insight into the entire industry. Out of college, Rudolph was an assistant golf professional at Pinehurst Resort and Spa, consistently rated as one of the top 100 courses in the world. Following her time in Pinehurst, Rudolph was curious to see the industry from the agency side and pursued an opportunity at a sports marketing firm called OnSport (now Wasserman). For two years, she traveled on the Nationwide Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour) witnessing first-hand the realities aspiring professionals have to do to chase their dreams to the PGA Tour. Being inside the ropes on the Nationwide Tour inspired Rudolph to turn professional and chase her own dreams of playing professional golf. During that time Rudolph realized where her true love for the game was, in coaching. She insisted on helping other tour pros instead of focusing on her own game. Understanding that winning at the at highest level wasn’t reality for her, Rudolph pivoted and put all her efforts into teaching and coaching.
In 2012, Rudolph took at position with First Tee of Met New York, and for the next twelve years taught the game to those that otherwise would not have access to the sport. First Tee is a non-profit organization that intentionally seeks out underserved communities and helps break down the barriers into the game. Rudolph worked with hundreds of young people and continued to hone her skills of teaching. At a golf clinic in 2012, Rudolph spoke to a group of young girls. In the crowd was a 7-year-old named, Megha Ganne. Rudolph and Ganne started working together consistently and inspired by Ganne’s love for the game, created an academy called, Katie’s Golf Academy, with Ganne as the primary focus. For the following nine years and still today, Rudolph has devoted her career to teaching and coaching Ganne. In September of 2021, Ganne was rated the #1 junior player in the United States by all three rating systems: Junior Golf Scoreboard, AJGA and Golfweek. Now a Junior at Stanford, Ganne has a long list of accomplishments, including the 2021 AJGA Rolex Player of the year, and finishing as the low amateur at the 2021 US Women’s Open at the age of 17. Most recently, Ganne won the 2023 Stanford Carmel Cup, shooting -15 over three days at Pebble Beach and the 2024 Nanea Invitational in Hawaii. In 2021, Rudolph embarked on a new path and entered the collegiate space by accepting the role as Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach at New York University. Never without a winning record, the Violets were consistently at the top of the Liberty League and rated as high as 10 th for the men and 9 th for the women in the country. Rudolph left NYU in August of 2023 to pursue private elite coaching opportunities as well as becoming the assistant golf coach at Columbia University.
